UPDATE: Statistics: 2019 grain harvest at 121 mln tns, wheat at 74 mln tns

MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s grain harvest amounted to 120.668 million tonnes in 2019, of which wheat harvest stood at 74.335 million tonnes, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Tuesday.

The grain harvest estimate for 2019 was raised from 120.6 million tonnes, as reported last week.

Russia had a bumper crop of 135.539 million tonnes in 2017, and harvested 120.677 million tonnes in 2016. The 2019 harvest was the third biggest in the post-Soviet history.

Barley harvest stood at 20.459 million tonnes in 2019, corn at 13.929 million tonnes, oats at 4.403 million tonnes, rye at 1.429 million tonnes, rice 1.099 million tonnes, buckwheat 784,000 tonnes, millet 439,000 tonnes, triticale 357,000 tonnes.
